This Privacy Policy describes how Zenohe Heyixe Calligraphy ("we," "us," or "our"), operating at zenohe-heyixe.info and located at 734 University Ave, San Diego, CA, collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information from individuals who visit our website or enroll in our calligraphy course. This policy is written in compliance with applicable United States privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) where applicable, and reflects our commitment to transparent data handling.

Section 1

Information We Collect

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you use our website, submit a contact form, enroll in the course, or communicate with us by email or phone. The categories of personal information we may collect include: identifying information such as your name and email address; contact information including your mailing address (required for workbook delivery) and phone number if provided; payment information processed through third-party payment processors (we do not store payment card data ourselves); course-related content including practice photos you submit for feedback; and any communications you send to us directly.

We also collect certain technical information automatically when you visit our website. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time and date of visit, and cookie identifiers. This information is collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. We use this technical data to understand how visitors use the site, maintain security, and improve the website experience.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately at [email protected] so we can take appropriate steps to remove it.

Section 2

How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes: to process course enrollments and deliver the printed workbook to your mailing address; to provide access to the video lessons and course portal; to review and respond to practice submissions with written feedback; to respond to contact form inquiries, emails, and phone calls; to process and manage gift card purchases and issuances; to send transactional communications related to your enrollment or inquiry; to maintain and improve our website and course platform; and to comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information to send unsolicited marketing communications unless you have explicitly opted in to receive them. All communications we send are directly related to your enrollment, inquiry, or course activity.

Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

Section 3

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We share your personal information only in limited circumstances. We share mailing address and name information with our printing and fulfillment partner solely for the purpose of shipping the printed workbook to you. This partner is contractually bound to use your information only for fulfillment purposes and not to retain it beyond what is necessary for shipping. We share payment information with our third-party payment processor for the purpose of completing transactions; we do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify affected users of any such change in ownership or control of their personal information.

We do not share your personal information with advertising networks, data brokers, analytics aggregators, or any third party for commercial purposes beyond those described in this policy.

Section 4

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly and to understand how visitors interact with the site. Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We use strictly necessary cookies that are required for the website to operate, functional cookies that remember your preferences, and analytics cookies that help us understand site usage patterns. You can manage your cookie preferences through our cookie consent tool, which is presented when you first visit the site.

For complete details about the types of cookies we use, their purposes, duration, and how to control them, please refer to our Cookie Policy at zenohe-heyixe.info/cookies.html. By continuing to use our website after acknowledging the cookie consent notice, you accept the use of cookies as described in that policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and adjusting your preferences in the cookie consent tool.

Section 5

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide ongoing course access, respond to feedback submissions, maintain enrollment records, and comply with legal obligations. Enrollment records, including your email address and workbook shipping address, are retained for the duration of your course access and for a reasonable period thereafter for administrative and legal purposes. Practice photos submitted for feedback are retained for the duration of your enrollment and may be deleted upon request.

Contact form messages and email correspondence are retained for a period sufficient to ensure complete responses and to maintain records of communications. Technical data collected through cookies and analytics is retained according to the retention periods specified in our Cookie Policy. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at [email protected], subject to any legal retention requirements that may apply.

Section 6

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include secure data transmission over HTTPS, access controls limiting who can access personal data within our organization, and contractual requirements imposed on third-party service providers who handle personal information on our behalf. We review and update our security practices periodically.

Despite these measures, no data transmission over the internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Section 7

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information. California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA including: the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you; the right to request deletion of personal information, subject to certain exceptions; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not engage in these activities); and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not discriminate against individuals who exercise their privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request to [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Rights Request." We will verify your identity before processing the request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. For California residents, we will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable consumer request, with an extension of up to an additional 45 days if necessary, with prior notice.

You also have the right to opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting us directly. As noted above, we do not send unsolicited marketing emails, so this right primarily applies to any communications you may have opted into during enrollment.

Section 8

Our website may contain links to third-party websites for informational purposes, such as links to tool suppliers or related resources. These third-party sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
